Paper Abstract:

With recent developments in telehealth, security is becoming an issue of major concern. Therefore, healthcare professionals (doctors and nurses) perceptions are worth looking at, since they deal with patients regularly and patients trust them to make informed decisions on issues concerning their privacy, data and health. For Telehealth to be accepted widely security issues need to be addressed. This research has made an attempt to analyze health care professionals perceptions of information security. This research was conducted in selected hospitals and healthcare Centre in London with nurses and doctors. The term healthcare professionals has been used in this research to refer to doctors and nurses. Interviews were conducted to empirically address this issue. It was discovered that most healthcare professional lack knowledge and awareness of some of the threats that exist in Information Security. |
